Working on...

I'm currently working on sketches for a picture book I am writing. I'm not completely finished with the text either. I'm trying to work on the pictures and the text at the same time to get a nice balance.

Reading Series
I illustrated this series for Scholastic called I'm Reading Now! There are 4 sets to be published throughout the year, with the first set (shown here) coming out in September. Available through Scholastic Book Clubs.
Each set comes with 8 books, about the adventures of a 5 and 4 year old named Ben and Ruby.
I just recently finished the last set; it was sad to see Ben and Ruby go. But it was very rewarding to see the printed books for these- I'm happy with the way it turned out.

What I'm Working On Right Now...

I've got several things I'm working on presently, and this greeting card is one of them. What you see is just the top half of the illustrated copy on the rough, so the colors aren't added or flushed out yet. I have decided, though, that the background will be a bright green/yellow. The above copy will be laying on top of. The card category is "everyday/encouragement". Not for children, though, as the inside copy says something about having margaritas!

currently working on...
I'm currently working on 6 books about holidays and this is a shot of what my screen looks like right now, drawing out my pages in Illustrator. The first book is due tomorrow so I'm chin deep in bezier curves and color palettes.

Paula on "Swim"

This is just a portion of a larger piece, but I like this little guy pulled out of his context. And I like drawing the little pups. He's either waiting for a ball to be tossed to him or waving to someone. He's having fun, regardless.

Swim
This is part of an illustration that I did a while ago for a book called I Love you the World. I was happy with the softness of this one.

little rabbit
I can think of 2 rabbits I've ever illustrated and I don't even know where they are in my archives so I did a quick little post-it-note sketch :)

Rabbits
It's all in the eyes
I did this piece a while back for Illustration Friday and it is still one of my favourites. Flirty rabbits - love 'em :)

Rabbits

Every now and then a rabbit appears in my work. This is from a series of spots I painted a couple of years ago. I still think the animals are pretty cute.
